Climate Kids @Cabrillo with Goodwill Industries

On April 12, 2016, the 4th and 5th grade Climate Kids from Pacific Beach Elementary went on a field trip to Cabrillo National Monument. This field trip highlighted native plants to the San Diego region and allowed students to be scientists observing various species of plants whilst on a guided hike. Students then created sustainable works of art with Cabrillo National Monument resident artist Joan Green. From shoes donated by the Goodwill, students decorated a shoe with salvaged items and art supplies displaying their commitment to helping the Earth. After the shoe was completed, students were supplied with native plant seeds like Lemonade Berry and Milkweed to continue to promote native plant species in the region.
