After our successful teacher training this past February, teachers who won the raffle prize for a free Climate Kids butterfly kit were given a free cup of Painted Lady Caterpillars and Earth's Birthday Project's Butterfly Lab curriculum. We delivered a kit to Esther Conrriquez, a third grade teacher from Rodriguez Elementary School in Logan Heights. Students learned about the life cycle of a butterfly, how the species plays an important role in San Diego, how climate change is affecting these species, and what they can do as Climate Kids to help protect these insects.
