Dr. Rachel Clemesha from Scripps Institution of Oceanography has had her head in the clouds for years - professionally, of course. Dr. Clemesha has been a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in the CASPO (Climate, Atmospheric Science and Physical Oceanography) division since 2015. On a cloudy day, Dr. Clemesha often finds herself looking upwards and wondering, "How far does that cloud bank go?" This curiosity led her to create an interactive website that allows anyone to observe clouds from below and above, and to share the results with others! At www.CoastClouds.com users can post a photo from their foggy morning commute or their cloudy stroll along the beach and upload it directly to the Coast Clouds website, where it is matched with a Satellite view using GPS data.

Coast Clouds is a great way to get involved in citizen science, and all you need is a camera. As Dr. Clemesha says, "The sky is a great classroom!"
