The Climate Kids team joined the Elementary Institute of Science last month for 2019 Open House. Students and their families were invited to visit the Institute, participate in science experiments, meet local scientists, and much more!
Alongside Climate Kids, students explored the causes, effects, and impacts of climate change on a global and local scale. Students engaged in a hands-on games to learn ways they can help protect the earth and San Diego ecosystems. To conclude, each attendee added their hand print to the Climate Kids Commitments board to signify their pledge to do at least one thing to help offset the impacts of our changing climate.
The Climate Science Alliance is proud to partner with the Elementary Institute of Science through our Climate Kids program and empower students to make climate smart choices to help protect their future. The Elementary Institute of Science (EIS) is a nonprofit organization committed to increasing lifelong opportunities for students of southeast San Diego through science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education. Their after-school, weekend and school partnership programs broaden access to quality STEM experiences, foster critical thinking, expand technical skills and encourage students to pursue STEM careers.
