The Climate Science Alliance is excited to receive a 2019 Catalyst Grant from the Network for Landscape Conservation. Check out how we will work to help build regional capacity with this support through our Tribal Work Group and its initiatives.

The Climate Science Alliance is excited to receive a 2019 Catalyst Grant from the Network for Landscape Conservation. The Network launched the Landscape Conservation Catalyst Fund this year in order to accelerate the pace and effective practice of collaborative landscape conservation across the United States.

The Catalyst Fund was awarded to 14 organizations to help build critical capacity and accelerate progress in landscape conservation by supporting key building block activities and collaborative processes to strengthen and advance regional partnerships.

What the Climate Science Alliance looks to address: The Climate Science Alliance received funding to support our Tribal Working Group. The Working Group is comprised of Tribal representatives from across southern California and focuses on building, supporting, and accelerating Tribal climate resilience to sustain the lands and cultures of southern California’s Tribes in the face of a changing climate. Funding will provide coordination support for the Working Group, enable the development of a work plan to guide collaboration to advance strategies and solutions on five identified priority topics, and advance outreach efforts to expand Tribal participation.

Generous support for the Catalyst Fund has been provided by the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and a portion of the Fund is specifically dedicated to Indigenous-led partnerships that serve Indigenous communities working on landscape conservation.
