Alliance Team Joins Pauma Farms’ Fun Run & Gathering Event

The Climate Science Alliance team was invited to join Pauma Farms for their Fun Run and Gathering Event, to share Climate Kids activities and see the Carbon Sink Demonstration project’s hedgerow installation in full bloom!

On March 20th, 2022 the Climate Science Alliance team joined Pauma Farms for their Fun Run and Gathering Event. Hosted by the Pauma Band of Luiseño Indians, Indian Health Council, and Chia Cafe Collection, the event brought together community members from across the region to the beautiful Pauma Farms for a day of fun and educational activities.

Throughout the event, the Alliance had the opportunity to share Climate Kids resources and activities with community members, as well as information about our Resilient Roots project. After the 5k run/walk, participants were led by guest speakers along a walking path who shared their stories and knowledge about native plants and their uses. Alliance team members were excited to see the hedgerow installation, which was one component of the Carbon Sink Demonstration under our Resilient Roots project, and how it has developed as an integral part of the landscape.

Thank you to the Pauma Band of Luiseño Indians for inviting us to be a part of this incredible community event!
