Alliance Team Member Attends Climate Champions Design Summit

Alliance team member Audrey Carver attended Climate Champions Design Summit hosted by the San Diego Science Project and UC San Diego to learn about the Understanding Global Change framework and develop new ways to teach climate science.

San Diego Science Project and Climate Champions at UC San Diego hosted a two-day in-person summit on Kumeyaay land in downtown San Diego to facilitate dialogue between researchers from Scripps Institute of Oceanography and educators about teaching climate science in the classroom. The summit focused on curriculum design through the Understanding Global Change (UGC) framework to create phenomena-driven learning experiences. Afterwards, we gathered for an amazing group dinner at WorldBeat Cultural Center, hosted by Makeda Cheatom.

Thank you to the San Diego Science Project and Climate Champions for hosting the event, and to Makeda and her community for the incredible food!
