An Evening at Paradise Tribal Farm

The Climate Science Alliance and Indigenous Regeneration welcomed dozens of attendees for an evening at Paradise Tribal Farm to learn about regenerative agriculture, local food sovereignty projects, and the collaborative impact of our organizations thanks to support from the San Diego Women’s Foundation.

On May 28, 2024, dozens of attendees from across San Diego County came together for “An Evening at Paradise Tribal Farm,” an event held on Kumeyaay land in Valley Center. Attendees representing local Tribal communities and Tribal-led organizations, and philanthropic entities including San Diego Foundation and the San Diego Women’s Foundation, joined together under the setting sun to learn about regenerative agriculture, local food sovereignty projects, and the collaborative impact of Indigenous Regeneration and Climate Science Alliance—two grantees supported by the San Diego Women’s Foundation. Attendees participated in multiple presentations and activities, including:

  • Presentations and Bird Songs from Chris Alvarado and Dr. Stan Rodgriguez

  • A seasonal pop-up dining experience from chefs Lily Hamlin and Maya Harrison, with support from Paradise Tribal Farm’s Destino Aleman

  • Screening of the extended trailer from Condor Visual Media’s “MAATHAAW: The Fire Within Us”

  • Tour of the farm and dome

  • Poster display of two Climate Science Alliance Small Grant awardees
