On behalf of the 2021 SWAF planning team, thank you for your contributions and support of the 2021 Southwest Adaptation Forum. This Forum was a team effort and we are truly grateful for our partners and sponsors who helped make this dream a reality. From inspiring stories of climate adaptation and resilience to understanding how to continue and grow this work - in the right way, the 2021 Southwest Adaptation Forum was an opportunity to showcase the transformations occurring in our communities and beyond.

The past year has taught us a great deal about adaptation and resilience, but also about how to bring our community together in new and creative ways. With guidance from the SWAF 2021 Advisory Committee, this exciting virtual event welcomed 349 attendees to explore efforts advancing climate change adaptation and resilience throughout the Southwest region.

Over the course of 3 days, leaders, practitioners, researchers, and community members had the opportunity to explore the collaborative, interdisciplinary Connecting Wildlands and Communities project, participate in hands-on training for fostering engagement with Indigenous communities, and participating in roundtable discussions focused on breaking down barriers of bringing fire back to the land.

To continue the conversation, deepen their understanding of Forum topics, and connect with other community members, attendees engaged through the online Posting Board, Climate Showcase, and virtual Art Walk!
