Ecological Drought Advisor Group Guides Scenario Development

Advisor group meets to advance extreme drought project, “Ecological Drought in Southern California: Developing a Framework for Drought Preparedness and Proactive Response.”

The project leads of “Ecological Drought in Southern California: Developing a Framework for Drought Preparedness and Proactive Response” were excited to convene the second meeting of the drought advisory team in August of 2024. This gathering focused on a deep dive to explore vulnerabilities to ecological drought from a resource management perspective. With the insight, expertise, and guidance from the advisory team we are able to start outlining metrics for considering drought impacts and to initiate the development of our scenarios of extreme drought and extreme precipitation.

Thanks to all the advisors for their support and participation, and we look forward to re-convening in the late fall.
