The Climate Science Alliance is proud to host the 2021 Southwest Adaptation Forum (SWAF) in partnership with the Southwest Climate Adaptation Science Center.
The 2021 SWAF will be a virtual event taking place April 6-8, 2021. Building on takeaways from the 2018 SWAF, the event will bring together leaders, practitioners, and researchers from across the Southwest to explore efforts that are advancing climate change adaptation including unique hands-on activities, networking, and professional training.
The Climate Science Alliance, in partnership with the La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians and the Pala Band of Mission Indians, is excited to announce the return of the Southwestern Tribal Climate Change Summit on January 19-21, 2022.
The 2022 Southwestern Tribal Climate Change Summit continues to build off of momentum gathered from the inaugural event in 2017 in San Diego, CA followed by the 2019 event in Idyllwild, CA. In response to the pandemic we have pushed the event to January 2022 in the hopes of gathering in person. This event will be a three-day gathering,* with engaging discussions and activities centered around the kinship with fire and its role in community, conservation, and climate change adaptation. We invite you to join us for this interactive, leadership-style retreat, and will provide additional details and opportunities for registration in the coming months.
*Organizers are committed to the safety of our community. While our hope is that we will be able to convene in-person by 2022, we will not be able to make this decision until mid-2021. Please stay tuned for updates.
