The Climate Science Alliance is seeking an experienced and inquisitive individual to join our team in San Diego as the Director of Operations. The ideal candidate is someone who is highly organized, detail oriented, and has experience in administrative and financial management. The Director of Operations will lead broad cross-organizational coordination and oversight and on-site office management. The role requires working closely with the Alliance team and its partners to maintain clear communication and structures that allow for nourishing interactions between staff and partners. 


We seek a team member who is interested in being part of, and supporting, a dynamic organization that centers relationships and reciprocity in its climate adaptation work. This is an exciting opportunity to work at a unique climate-focused nonprofit and play a leadership role in administration and management.


The Director of Operations reports to the Executive Director and has three primary focal areas:


1. Manage the financial operations of the Alliance’s portfolio including budget

oversight, expense tracking, financial reporting, and budget development.


2. Lead coordination of day-to-day activities through managing efficient

organizational workflow and communication, office care and maintenance,

and staff management.


3. Provide backbone support to Climate Science Alliance leadership through

maintaining information management systems, providing administrative staff

support, and helping shape and execute our strategic vision.
